Jaame Masjid was established from a house in 1962, incorporating two terrace houses.
It became the first Masjid in Lancashire, recognised as the official central mosque of Blackburn.
This was accomplished with the efforts of a handful of original Muslim families who settled in the area in the late 1950’s and the early 1960’s.
May Allah S.W.T. reward them in this world and in the hereafter. |
If it were not for the efforts of these Muslims
settled in the area, the Islamic faith in Blackburn would not nearly
be as strong as it is today. Alhamdolillah now there are 30,000
Muslims in Blackburn.
It is situated in the heart of the community, providing excellent
education, prayer facilities, seminars and is a venue for
world renowned guests and speakers.
